New Traffic Pattern: Temporary I-30 Exit Ramp to Broadway Street Opens Thursday in North Little Rock

PULASKI COUNTY (6-18) – I-30 eastbound traffic in North Little Rock will begin using a temporary off-ramp to Broadway Street next week to facilitate the interstate construction, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, the existing ramp to Broadway Street (Exit 141B) will be closed during overnight hours Wednesday night, June 23. A new temporary ramp will open just north of Broadway Street, directing traffic to use a temporary Texas U-turn at Bishop Lindsey Avenue and then returning to Broadway Street by the southbound frontage road. This new traffic pattern is expected to be in place until the end of 2022.

See attached map NR 21-194-A for additional details.

A Texas U-turn, also known as a Texas turnaround, will allow I-30 eastbound traffic to make a U-turn between the frontage roads at Bishop Lindsey Avenue without going through the traffic lights to return to Broadway Street. A concrete barrier will separate the Texas U-turn lane from traffic on Bishop Lindsey Avenue.
