Old Washington Project Partners Celebrate Completion with Ribbon Cutting

HEMPSTEAD COUNTY (6-18) – Everyone is invited to attend the ribbon cutting event for the overlay of Highway 195, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

On Monday, June 21 at 11:00 ARDOT officials, Highway Commissioners, Legislators, News Media and the public will gather in Old Washington to celebrate ribbon cutting on this project. To find the Event Location, see attached map

Hempstead County Judge Jerry Crane collaborated with Arkansas Highway Commissioner Philip Taldo, Tyson representatives, and ARDOT leadership to make these improvements to Highway 195 from Fulton to Old Washington.  The load limit for this stretch of roadway increased from 32 tons to 40 tons (80,000 pounds).

ARDOT provided $4.5 million, Tyson contributed $3 million, and the Arkansas Economic Development Commission paid $1.5 million for the project.
