Routine Bridge Inspections to Cause Lane Closures in Pope County

POPE COUNTY (12-2) – Routine bridge inspections of the Rushing Road (Pope County Road 12) bridge over Piney Creek and the Griffin Flat Road (Pope County Road 45) bridge over Hacker Creek will result in temporary lane closures.

Weather permitting, crews will close the Rushing Road bridge over Piney Creek from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 6. This closure is 5.6 miles northwest of the junction of State Highway 7 with Rushing Road and will allow crews to inspect the one-lane bridge with equipment designed to inspect the underside of the bridge (often referred to as a snooper).

Weather permitting, crews will close the Griffin Flat Road bridge over Hacker Creek from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 7. This closure is 0.5 miles north of the junction of State Highway 274 with Griffin Flat Road.

Orange barrels, message boards, and signage will control traffic. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov. You can also follow us on Twitter @IDriveArkansas for traffic and @myARDOT for everything else.
