Routine Bridge Maintenance to Cause Lane Closures

CRITTENDEN COUNTY | September 30, 2022

ARDOT crews are nearing completion of the Nonredundant Steel Tension Member (NSTM) inspection of the Interstate 40 Mississippi River Bridge that began September 6 (see NR 22-201 for details).

Once crews finish the current hands-on inspection, single outside lane closures will continue for crews to perform routine maintenance. Work will be performed in both the eastbound and westbound direction.  The inspection and maintenance process is expected to be complete by Thursday, October 13, weather permitting.  Only one lane of traffic in each direction will be closed at a time and will be limited to the following times:

  • Westbound outside: Mon-Thurs | 6:30a.m. – 3:30p.m.
  • Eastbound outside: Mon-Thurs | 8:30a.m. – 5:30p.m.

ARDOT reminds drivers to slow down and minimize distractions when moving through a work zone. Using a phone in a work zone is unlawful and can result in citations and doubled fines.
