The Arkansas Highway Police is a nationally recognized leader in the fields of drug interdiction, motor carrier safety, and hazardous materials enforcement, and training.

Special Services

Special Services is comprised of both certified law enforcement officers and civilian personnel responsible for the various administrative, investigative and support functions of the Arkansas Highway Police Division (AHP).  Those functions include, but are not limited to: conducting and coordinating specialized officer training classes, preparing written reports for both internal and external purposes, maintaining personnel training records, providing security services to designated ARDOT facilities, the preparation and maintenance of accounting records, conducting both internal and criminal investigations, managing various enforcement grant programs and coordinating the AHP officer employment process.

AHP officers assigned to Special Services also provide information to the public through both formal and informal presentations to motor carriers and civic associations regarding the enforcement of state laws and regulations.
