Overnight Ramp Closure Scheduled for the Interstate 30/Highway 70 Interchange in Saline County

SALINE COUNTY | May 8, 2024

Construction to widen Interstate 30 (I-30) to six lanes in Saline County requires the closure of the Highway 70 ramp to I-30 west from 10 p.m. Thursday, May 9 through 6 a.m. Friday, May 10.

Weather permitting, crews will close the ramp to allow for construction activities and for ramp traffic to be shifted toward the outside onto new pavement. Traffic will not be able to use the ramp during the closure and will need to follow the signed detours. See attached detour map NR 24-126-A for more information.

  • Highway 70 to I-30 west detour: Take ramp to I-30 east and Highway 67 (Exit 114), take underpass on Highway 67/229 to the frontage road, return to I-30 west.

Traffic will be controlled with message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage. The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds. Areas adjacent to the Interstate may experience noise impacts during nighttime hours.

This project (Job CA0601) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 5.5 miles of Interstate 30 to three lanes in each direction, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116). The project also includes improvements at the Highway 67 interchange (Exit 114). More information on this $187.3 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
